A Swing to Die For

I have longed for this swing for a couple of years.  We have a big old piociana tree out back that hangs over our new pool, I know, leaves galore but this automated robot manages to clear most of it.

As you know the OH (other half) went on that damned trip without me, so I am getting my swing.  The kids and him caught 2 trains, then hired a car and drove to the foot of the Cotswolds to pick it up from the beautiful Marnie who carves these matserpieces out of oak.  What a man, he travelled 7 hrs return trip to pick up this swing and still rang me to ask what products I wanted from boots.  It will board the Qantas flight home and arrive on Tuesday, I will send a visual when it is up in the tree.

Have a wonderful Sunday.  Come and visit me at the shop.

PS:  the coffee shop side area has started, my wonderful son Damien has dug the area out and now it's ready for pavers.

Christmas is Over It's time to hit the Beach

Well it's always a bit sad when Christmas is over, but up here in Queensland, it's time to hit the beach.  While the OH (other half) is still tripping the light fantastic in Edinburgh and then off to London before the whirlwind tour ends.  He needs to make a stop off to pick up my oak swing, just out of London.  And then it will probably cost the price of a ticket to get it home, will leave the negotiations up to him and Qantas.  Then it will hung under our old poinciana tree in the back yard.  Will send a visual of that when it lands in Brissie.

I was up at Mooloolaba on the weekend and it was packed, so good to see the restaurants and shops doing a roaring trade.

We are just back today and we have stocked up on some lovely new fashion, sarongs, big colourful beach bags, sun hats and towels, come in and see us, we have a lovely selection, everything you need before you head off on that sunny holiday.

                                                                          So cute!!!

The Christmas Bomb has hit the old Homestead

Well, when even the neighbours start nagging about the Christmas Decorations not being up, it's time to take action.  It has been a very busy time, the last five weeks, yes we are five weeks old and the old homestead has been a bit neglected, so up into the attic I went last night and with the kids help hauled down the many boxes, it's not all up yet but it's a start.

I particularly love my new stocking with my name embroidered on it.  As the other half is still tripping the light fantastic and going to Europe with the youngest, there better be something in that stocking on Christmas morning because I will not be out playing in the snow.

Thanks to everyone that has supported Shop 51 over the last few weeks and found us, especially the lovely AM, from the House that AM Built and that other beautiful lady from Red Roses and Crystal.  We are incredibly overwhelmed by the love and support we have received.

PS:  There is a rumour that a hole in the wall coffee shop will be popping up soon in the storage area next to the shop.  And it is going to be called Nowhere.  Stay tuned.
